NUBE - Sustainable Activewear Review

The Athleisurely Review

Los Angeles, California

I AM SO EXCTIED about this weeks legging review! I am seriously obsessed with this company and the leggings they are making. Definitely my new go-to’s!

WHAT NUBE IS DOING TO HELP THE PLANET: They make their own fabric using recycled plastic! How cool is that. They are super transparent about their entire process which is so fun to see exactly how the recycled plastic bottles are turned into leggings here in LA. You can see the entire process HERE.

FABRIC: I can’t get over how thick and luxurious this fabric feels!

FIT / SIZING: I tried a small and a medium because I am usually in-between sizes and I am a small in these. Normally when leggings have a compression factor, I like to size up so I don’t feel suffocated, but the small fit great.

BOOTY FACTOR: Great compression that lifts and holds everything together. L.O.V.E. They are also not see through at all!!!

WHERE TO WEAR: I wore these to a super sweaty Plate Fit class and they held up amazingly. No slipping or sliding at all. The sports bra is made for low impact activities, so I would wear it to a class with no jumping like any barre class.

P.S. I also have these leggings in the Sound Blue color and am in love. Their rose color is SO pretty too.

The Athleisurely Review

Estancia Hotel | La Jolla, California

Hi guys and welcome to the first Athleisurely Earth Month Legging Review! Phew that’s a long name! 😬 For the month of April, in honor of Earth Day being in April, every Legging Review posted this month will be featuring a brand that is making a difference for the planet.

Today’s set is the Mindful Legging from Yummy + Trendy. This top and leggings were made from recycled water bottles! Yay!

FABRIC: Made from recycled water bottles! The fabric is light, stretchy and cool to the touch.

FIT / SIZING: I am wearing a size medium. The fabric itself is very stretchy, but the stitching isn’t. It is a high waist legging but not super high waist, more of an in between height. The ankles were also a little loose which is super rare, I usually find that ankles on leggings are very tight! The length hits at my favorite 7/8 length.

BOOTY FACTOR: They are see through so be sure to wear nude undies! No compression.

WHERE TO WEAR: I have been on a Core Power kick lately and these are perfect for staying cool in sweaty sessions. Core Power isn’t as sweaty as some hot yoga classes I’ve been too so I’m not sure how this color of fabric holds up in the sweatiest times, but I will update you once I test it out!

Will Lane - Jennifer Legging

The Athleisurely Review

Manhattan Beach, California

Happy Thursday! I’m a day late for today’s review so lets keep it short and sweet!

This week’s brand is Will Lane Athletics. I love their minimalistic style and the nude tone of these leggings. P.S. - these leggings are under $100!

FABRIC: Their fabric is light, airy and breathable. I love the mesh that they use. I’ve come across some mesh fabrics that can feel too tight and itchy to the skin, almost plasticky. Will Lane’s mesh is not like that at all, you can barely even tell there’s a difference between the legging fabric and the mesh portion. It adds just the right amount of breathability.

FIT / SIZING: I got a small and they fit perfect. They’re not too tight and they don’t dig in or give you a muffin top. You could wear these all day and they wouldn’t get itchy or uncomfortable.

BOOTY FACTOR: Since the fabric is on the thinner side, they don’t have a sculpting factor. On this particular pair, the backside is nude colored fabric that is see through so make sure to wear the right undies!

WHERE TO WEAR: Somewhere sweatyyyy. Hot 8 yoga or spin. These do great when the heat is turned up.

p.s. The bra I’m wearing is called the Kali Sports Bra. I love the detailing in the back and how bold the front is. I love wearing this to events as a stand out piece. I also own the Marcella Sports Bra and it is my go-to cozy lazy Sunday bra.

Olympia Activewear - Vix Leggings

The Athleisurely Review

Malibu, California

It’s been a minute since the last #ThePantReview! Welcome back to the new and improved, and re-named The Legging Review. That makes more sense to call it that right?? I also have it titled under The Athleisurely Review, so I guess it still doesn’t have an official name. What do you guys think? I like to use both interchangeably in different scenarios.

I was SO excited to finally review Olympia Activewear. I love their aesthetic, and have been eyeballing a few sets for awhile now. I was drawn to their unique elastic waistbands and different cuts for their sports bras. Here’s what I thought:

FABRIC: First off we have to talk about the beautiful elastic waist band. It is so pretty. But so tight. The elastic is high quality and thick, but it doesn’t give at all. If you have a super hour-glass figure this might not be an issue for you, but for me it was uncomfortable and gave me some high waisted muffin top action where there usually is none. As for the legging fabric, I wasn’t super impressed. It feels athletic but it wears more like a pair of cotton leggings. Comfortable but it doesn’t have any contour, which felt strange and off balance in comparison to the waist trainer-esque elastic band. I would love to try another pair of leggings from Olympia to see if this was just the case with this particular style.

FIT / SIZING: If you have an hour glass shape these will probably fit you perfectly. I got a size small and the legging part fit great, but since the elastic waist band was so tight I would go up a size. I’m not sure if that would make the legs too loose though, would need to try on some other styles to be sure. I also ordered two of the same exact style sports bra in different colors because I loved the style so much. They only had size P left, so I thought that would be fine since usually S or XS work in bras for me. But it didn’t, it gave me an upper boob pooch by my armpit and the cut out on the bottom half was just not working with me. It took A LOT of tries to take decent photos in these. Again, would love to see if I got a size up if the cut would still be a problem because the style looked so great on the model and I love the look of it.

WHERE TO WEAR: I wore these to Playlist Yoga and they were great. I would wear them to any non-heated yoga class or a barre class. Anything that doesn’t get too sweaty because I can’t imagine the waist band would feel great against your skin drenched in sweat!
