Röhnisch Legging Review

The Athleisurely Review

Santa Monica, California

Guys I’ve been looking for a new go-to black legging for awhileeee and I’ve finally found one. My closet is officially stuffed to the brim with leggings. So much so that I just got a second dresser to accommodate everything. With so many options out there these days I actually rarely review or wear black leggings. But as I was organizing my new dresser full of leggings I realized that SO many of them were basic black leggings, I just never wear any of them because none of them are making the wear all day cut. They are too tight, the fabric isn’t breathable, they fall down, the list can go on for awhile. When I realized this I decided I needed to find some all star new black leggings to get into my daily rotation!

Cue: Röhnisch. They are a Swedish golf & activewear brand made for women, by women. This amazing company is doing many things to be a sustainable company, something I have been looking out for more and more lately. They also support a charity in India that helps underprivileged women get education and their healthcare needs met. Overall I am amazed by this company and everything they are doing and am very proud to bring you today’s Legging Review.

FABRIC: The particular pair that I choose is called the Shiny Tights. I love that they are basic black tights but with just enough shine to be something special, without being over the top. The fabric is comfortable and breathable. Stats: 85% Polyamid, 15% Elastan

FIT / SIZING: Perfect fit. Seriously. Love the high waist and they even have a secret draw string that I didn’t even notice was there at first, in case you need a tighter waist band. They are also my favorite 7/8 length. They don’t bunch up on my short legs and aren’t capris so I still feel covered.

BOOTY FACTOR: Not see through! They also have a slight amount of compression, but just enough to feel confident in them and still be able to wear them through the whole day.

WHERE TO WEAR: SOUL CYCLE. Get sweaty in these! They fit so great and since they can be adjusted to your specific body take advantage and wear these to your most high intensity workouts and you won’t have to be dealing with any legging issues so you can focus on your workout. :D

Happy Thursday! I’m a day late for today’s review so lets keep it short and sweet!

This week’s brand is Will Lane Athletics. I love their minimalistic style and the nude tone of these leggings. P.S. - these leggings are under $100!

FABRIC: Their fabric is light, airy and breathable. I love the mesh that they use. I’ve come across some mesh fabrics that can feel too tight and itchy to the skin, almost plasticky. Will Lane’s mesh is not like that at all, you can barely even tell there’s a difference between the legging fabric and the mesh portion. It adds just the right amount of breathability.

FIT / SIZING: I got a small and they fit perfect. They’re not too tight and they don’t dig in or give you a muffin top. You could wear these all day and they wouldn’t get itchy or uncomfortable.

BOOTY FACTOR: Since the fabric is on the thinner side, they don’t have a sculpting factor. On this particular pair, the backside is nude colored fabric that is see through so make sure to wear the right undies!

WHERE TO WEAR: Somewhere sweatyyyy. Hot 8 yoga or spin. These do great when the heat is turned up.

p.s. The bra I’m wearing is called the Kali Sports Bra. I love the detailing in the back and how bold the front is. I love wearing this to events as a stand out piece. I also own the Marcella Sports Bra and it is my go-to cozy lazy Sunday bra.

Olympia Activewear - Vix Leggings

The Athleisurely Review

It’s been a minute since the last #ThePantReview! Welcome back to the new and improved, and re-named The Legging Review. That makes more sense to call it that right?? I also have it titled under The Athleisurely Review, so I guess it still doesn’t have an official name. What do you guys think? I like to use both interchangeably in different scenarios.

I was SO excited to finally review Olympia Activewear. I love their aesthetic, and have been eyeballing a few sets for awhile now. I was drawn to their unique elastic waistbands and different cuts for their sports bras. Here’s what I thought:

FABRIC: First off we have to talk about the beautiful elastic waist band. It is so pretty. But so tight. The elastic is high quality and thick, but it doesn’t give at all. If you have a super hour-glass figure this might not be an issue for you, but for me it was uncomfortable and gave me some high waisted muffin top action where there usually is none. As for the legging fabric, I wasn’t super impressed. It feels athletic but it wears more like a pair of cotton leggings. Comfortable but it doesn’t have any contour, which felt strange and off balance in comparison to the waist trainer-esque elastic band. I would love to try another pair of leggings from Olympia to see if this was just the case with this particular style.

FIT / SIZING: If you have an hour glass shape these will probably fit you perfectly. I got a size small and the legging part fit great, but since the elastic waist band was so tight I would go up a size. I’m not sure if that would make the legs too loose though, would need to try on some other styles to be sure. I also ordered two of the same exact style sports bra in different colors because I loved the style so much. They only had size P left, so I thought that would be fine since usually S or XS work in bras for me. But it didn’t, it gave me an upper boob pooch by my armpit and the cut out on the bottom half was just not working with me. It took A LOT of tries to take decent photos in these. Again, would love to see if I got a size up if the cut would still be a problem because the style looked so great on the model and I love the look of it.

WHERE TO WEAR: I wore these to Playlist Yoga and they were great. I would wear them to any non-heated yoga class or a barre class. Anything that doesn’t get too sweaty because I can’t imagine the waist band would feel great against your skin drenched in sweat!

IVY PARK - PINTUCK LEGGING

The Athleisurely Review

New York, New York

Happy Valentine's Day everybody! I know, this is a few days late but, it was intended to be a V-Day post! My actual Valentine's Day went by SO quick I completely forgot to publish this. I hope you all still love it just as much as you would if it were actually posted on the 14th! And I hope everyone had a special love-filled day. xoxo

Without further ado, I'm so excited because I finallyyyy got to try out Ivy Park leggings! The hope was turning into Beyonce when putting these on.

FABRIC: I was expecting this fabric to be a lot thicker than it really was. It feels very silky and thin. Perfect for sweaty Soul Cycle classes, but the issue I found with this thin fabric is, there is a zipper pocket on the back of this pair, and the whole pocket lining looked bulky through the fabric.

BOOTY FACTOR: Not see through, but you definitely could not get away with wearing granny panties because the fabric is so thin. As for a sculpting factor, the actual legging fabric didn't do much, but the waist band was nice and thick, and placed in just the right spot to help a little.

FIT / SIZING: Great fit. I usually wear a size small, and their small fit perfect!

WHERE TO WEAR: SOUL CYCLE FOR SURE. These are super thin and breathable, perfect for heated sweaty cardio sessions!
